Floating into Forty by Sue
Jan. 14, ’10-Smeary pink smatterings of soft pink seem to sink into the sunrise. Later a layer of soft pink floats suspended above Arcadia in the Eastern sky. Stars capture my attention as I walk in below zero darkness. The quarter moon offers diffused light that shines at a creek corner. I’m settled into the silence that is so simple.
I’m floating into forty with roots that extend from my feet deep within the earth. I hear the drumming of my heart and the earth beating in unison as I sing the ancient song. A bunny rabbit hip hops with haste. A fluttering of birds awaken with my footsteps. I notice fresh coyote tracks and step over the snow covered log. Hawk flys easily and carefree over my head and circles back on morning wings.
What a gift to be any age-right where we should be. I am the richest woman on earth. Wealth is deeper than any bank account or piling of financial assets. It’s reaching deep within and being at peace with the life we’ve chosen and aligning with our callings. I march to a different drummer and that’s OK. I see things rarely noticed and I embrace it. I am entrenched with the deep magnetic forces that run the Universe. I’m in awe of the splendor and serenity of nature. I care to dream of peace and love that is beyond the barriers of the human mind. I choose to live with a positive attitude and watch the miracles un-fold in every moment.
I’m so fortunate to have family, friends and a full life.
Do you enjoy having birthdays? Are you someone that hears the deep drummings?
Feel the Spirit in Peace and Love,
Sue Roskos
